CTEK MXS 3.8 Battery Charger – Fully Automatic for 12V Batteries

The CTEK MXS 3.8 is a compact, microprocessor-controlled battery charger for 12V lead-acid batteries. It is suitable for charging and long-term maintenance charging of vehicle batteries in cars, motorcycles, RVs, classic cars, seasonal vehicles, and smaller work machines.

With a charging current of up to 3.8 A, the device charges batteries with a capacity of 1.2 to 85 Ah. For maintenance charging, batteries up to 130 Ah can be connected. The fully automatic, seven-step charging process adapts the charge to the battery's condition, ensuring gentle and reliable battery maintenance.

Automatic 7-step charging process

The MXS 3.8 largely performs the charging process automatically. After connecting, the charger checks whether the battery can accept and store a charge. It then charges it in a controlled manner and, if necessary, maintains it at an appropriate state of charge permanently.

The patented Float/Pulse maintenance charging process allows the battery to remain connected to the charger for extended periods. This makes the CTEK MXS 3.8 particularly suitable for vehicles and machines that are used only seasonally or at longer intervals.

Programs for different battery sizes and temperatures

The clear program selection allows the charger to be adapted to various applications. One program is intended for smaller batteries, and another for normal vehicle batteries.

For low ambient temperatures and certain AGM batteries, a special snowflake or cold weather program with a charging voltage of 14.7 V is available. Additionally, the device features an automatic desulfation function, which can help reduce sulfate deposits in deeply discharged or long-unused batteries.

Suitable for numerous 12V battery types

The CTEK MXS 3.8 is designed for various lead-acid batteries:

The charger starts from a battery voltage of just 2.0 V. It is not intended for lithium batteries.

The robust housing is protected against dust and jet water according to IP65. This means the charger can also be used in more demanding conditions in garages, workshops, warehouses, or vehicle depots.
