CTEK Comfort Connect to MagCode PowerClip – 12 V Adapter
The CTEK Comfort Connect to MagCode PowerClip is a compact 12 V battery charging adapter that connects a compatible CTEK Comfort Connect charger to the appropriate magnetic MagCode point. Its 270 mm cable suits frequent maintenance charging on generators, emergency vehicles, motorhomes and classic cars.
Key product specifications
Description and practical use
The adapter makes maintenance charging easier for starter batteries in vehicles and generators that must remain ready for service. Rather than accessing exposed battery clamps every time, operators can use a correctly installed MagCode point. Magnetic alignment assists connection, while correct installation and charger selection remain essential.
The original SEV listing specifies a 270 mm cable, slim construction and an adapter-component rating up to 16 A. This hardware figure is not the permitted charging current for every CTEK Comfort Connect charger: CTEK states a 7 A restriction for its quick-connector accessories in its own instructions and requires suitable 12 V models.
The magnetic interface allows easy coupling and uncoupling, helps reduce incorrect positioning and fits tight installations. It must not be described as universally polarity-error-proof or guaranteed arc-free under every condition; follow the connector, installation and charger instructions.
Benefits and features
Quick to connect and disconnect.
Short lead for constrained access.
For suitable protected charging points.
Maintenance charging for suitable starter batteries.
For compatible CTEK chargers.
Requires matching magnetic receptacle.
Battery care for standby fleet equipment.
Repeat charging without repeated clamp access.
Technical highlights in detail
Adapter is not a charger
The PowerClip is a cable adapter, not a battery charger. A compatible CTEK 12 V charger must supply the charge. Voltage and charging algorithm are determined by battery chemistry and the charger, not by the adapter.
16 A component rating is not blanket charger approval
The store lists a 16 A hardware rating. However, CTEK instructions restrict certain Comfort Connect quick connectors to 7 A. In use, follow the lowest applicable rating of charger, Comfort Connect lead, MagCode receptacle, circuit protection and battery.
Check charger compatibility
Previous SEV text lists XS 0.8, MXS 3.6, MXS 3.8, MXS 5.0 and MXS 7.0. The charger must be a compatible 12 V device with the right Comfort Connect interface and rated output. The XC 0.8 is a 6 V charger and should not be presented as universally suitable for a 12 V MagCode setup.
Use cases for mobile generators
When a generator is in storage, maintaining the starter battery can help readiness. MagCode access is also useful for suitable fire-service vehicles, emergency equipment, ambulances, motorhomes and classic cars.
Using magnetic contacts safely
Keep contacts clean and undamaged. A matching MagCode receptacle, correct polarity, proper circuit protection and weatherproofing are required. Avoid disconnecting under load or exceeding the approved current limits.
No extra charging power provided
This adapter adds no fast-charging electronics, jump-start capability or battery test functionality. It only provides a convenient connection to a suitable charger; other battery systems or connectors may require different accessories.
Suitable applications
Maintenance charging for standby generators.
Ready-to-use 12 V vehicle batteries.
Convenient charging during vehicle standby.
Routine battery maintenance while parked.
Regular starter-battery charging.
Magnetic service charging connection.
Important before ordering
The stated 16 A adapter rating does not permit 16 A charging in every configuration. The lowest-rated part – particularly CTEK Comfort Connect and the MagCode receptacle – determines the allowed charging current.

Frequently asked questions
Is the PowerClip a charger?
No. It connects a compatible CTEK 12 V charger to MagCode.
How long is the cable?
270 mm according to the original product listing.
Can I always charge at 16 A?
No. 16 A is a component rating; CTEK restricts some quick connectors to 7 A. Check all component ratings.
Is it suitable for MXS 5.0?
Intended for compatible 12 V Comfort Connect arrangements and the right MagCode receptacle; verify the revision.
Does an XC 0.8 work?
Not generally: XC 0.8 is a 6 V charger, while this is for a supported 12 V setup.
Do I need a MagCode socket?
Yes, the suitable installed MagCode receptacle is required.
Can I use it with generators?
Yes, for maintenance charging of compatible 12 V starter batteries where connectors match.
Does it prevent all arcing?
No absolute no-arcing guarantee applies to every operating condition. Avoid disconnecting under high load.
